History
Jeanene Mader, following the burden of her heart, founded Lord’s Legacy Life Ministries, Inc. in November 2006. Jeanene’s active role in advocating for individuals with mental challenges and physical disabilities has been her passion from childhood. She remembers as a child their family home being open to anyone needing assistance. Her parents’ compassion instilled in her the values that loving and serving others is our purpose. It is our duty to God, our society, and our communities to have a compassionate heart. Financial burdens were never to be viewed as obstacles but opportunities to promote one’s self worth. Ten years ago Jeanene opened the doors of her family home to an individual with a disability, after the young woman was abandoned during a hazardous flood. Her advocacy and daily participation in this individual’s life educated her on the demands and the challenges these individuals face daily. Recognizing this was only one individual and she could make a difference for her as well as others, she began a mission with a purpose.
Jeanene is committed to educating the public on the barriers these individuals face. With knowledge and understanding resources can be easily accessible to accomplishing the goal of public education. She believes that there is desperate need for change in the past traditional concept of the government providing funding to these individuals. A new concept was created to offer “community inclusion” as a vital necessity to promote each individual’s life. She believes that with the available resources, community outreach, and the compassion in this country, that there will be a day that disabled citizens will not have to depend on government funding to provide the same opportunities we all share.
